Vacant Building Workshop Results
On July 11, 2018 the City Council hosted a town hall style workshop to discuss the number of vacant buildings in the commercial core of Bishop.  The workshop was intended to provide the community with information, better understand underlying causes of commercial vacancies, identify the community's concerns related to vacancies, identifying strategies and solutions to address the community's concern facilitate dialog between the community, the Council, and property owners and receive feedback on initiatives City Staff has identified from other communities. The goal of the workshop was to allow the community to provide the City Council and staff with direction as whether or not the City should have a role in addressing vacant commercial spaces, and if so, what strategies the City should employ.
