Public Works News Release
Construction at Bishop City Hall Entrance
Work to reconstruct the concrete at the entrance to the City of Bishop City Hall is expected to start early next week. The concrete steps and ramp at the entrance to the Bishop City Hall are cracked, deteriorating, and don’t meet current standards. A project to reconstruct the entrance to
City Hall is anticipated to start early the week of 30 April and last about 2 weeks. The Bishop City Hall is at 377 West Line Street, although the entrance is off of Church Street, the first street to the north of Line Street.
The work will restrict the normal entrance to City Hall at times. When the normal entrance is restricted, an alternate entrance next to the normal entrance will always be available during business hours. The work will also restrict the north entrance to the City Auditorium at times. Other entrances to the Auditorium should be available when the north entrance is restricted. The City Auditorium is where gymnastics and other community activities are held.
The work will restrict parking near the entrance to City Hall at times, especially when work is actively underway. It may be necessary to park on Church Street or in the parking lot across Church Street from City Hall while the project is under construction.
During the construction of the project, visitors to City Hall should be careful near the work area and mindful of the direction of staff involved in the construction, barriers, and signs. Drivers should be prepared to park further away from the entrance to City Hall than they may be used to. The City of Bishop appreciates everyone’s patience while this work is underway.
