Spruce Street Could Close for Construction Tuesday
Work on a City of Bishop project to place a fiber-reinforced seal on the pavement of Spruce Street between East Yaney Street and Wye Road could start as early as Tuesday, 2 October. Wet weather or other factors could delay this date.
The contractor on the $80,000 project is Environmental Concepts out of Tehachapi. The seal will restore the pavement surface and extend its life. The work will require the street be closed for several hours though work is expected to be completed in one day.
When Spruce Street is closed, there will be no access in or out of the Kmart and Vons shopping center by way of Spruce. Drivers in the area will need to take a different route during the period Spruce is closed. Remember, if you need to go south on Main Street and can’t use Spruce Street, use Wye Road to exit the shopping center.
Everyone’s patience with this important project to take care of the community’s investment in its streets is appreciated.
