CONSTRUCTION ADVISORY

CALTRANS TO BEGIN RESURFACING PROJECT ON US 395 IN MONO COUNTY
Mono County – The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) is preparing to begin a highway resurfacing project on US 395 from Eastside Lane in Walker, CA to the Nevada Stateline in Mono County.

The project consists of cold in-place recycling, cold plaining existing pavement, hot mix asphalt paving, guardrail replacement, rumble stripping, and restriping traffic lanes.

Work is scheduled to begin June 12, 2017, and to be completed in October 2017.

Traffic will be directed on US 395 with one-way reversing lane closures on the north and south bound lanes: Monday through Thursday from 6:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. and Friday 6:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Expected traffic delays will be up to 20 minutes with the most impact to travelers during the week of June 26, 2017.

This $10.7 million project has been awarded to Road and Highway Builders, LLC of Reno, NV.

Work is scheduled to begin as listed, but is subject to change due to traffic incidents, weather, availability of equipment and/or materials and construction related issues.

CALTRANS TO BEGIN SCRUB SEAL AND STRIPPING PROJECT ON STATE ROUTE 158 IN MONO COUNTY

Mono County – The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) is preparing to begin a highway chip seal and stripping project on State Route (SR) 158 from the south junction of US 395 to the Southern California Edison Hydro Plant in June Lake, CA in Mono County.

The project consists of placing scrub seal on the roads surface and restriping traffic lanes. Work is scheduled to begin June 19, 2017, and to be completed on June 30, 2017.

Traffic will be directed daily on SR 158 from US 395 to the Southern California Edison Hydro Plan using reverse traffic control with flaggers and a pilot car: Monday through Thursday from 6:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. and Friday 6:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Expected traffic delays will be up to 20 minutes with the most impact to travelers during the week of June 26, 2017.

This $1.7 million project has been awarded to American Pavement Systems, Inc. of Modesto, CA.

 Work is scheduled to begin as listed, but is subject to change due to traffic incidents, weather, availability of equipment and/or materials and construction related issues.

CALTRANS TO RESUME WORK AFTER WINTER SUSPENSION ON US 395 IN MONO COUNTY

Mono County – The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) is preparing to resume a highway resurfacing project on US 395 from State Route (SR) 270 to 0.1 mile south of Jack Sawyer Road near Bridgeport, CA in Mono County.

The project will remove the existing pavement, replace with a new asphalt surface, replace guardrail and restripe traffic lanes. Work is scheduled to resume after winter suspension on June 19, 2017, and be completed in late July 2017.

Traffic will be directed daily on US 395 from SR 270 to 0.1 mile south of Jack Sawyer Road using reverse traffic control with flaggers and pilot car: Monday through Thursday from 7:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. and Friday 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Expected traffic delays will be up to 20 minutes.

This $4.4 million project has been awarded to Herback General Engineering of Minden, NV.

Work is scheduled to begin as listed, but is subject to change due to traffic incidents, weather, availability of equipment and/or materials and construction related issues.

#  State Route 108 to Open Today at 2 p.m.

Bishop – The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) would like to notify the traveling public that State Route (SR) 108 over Sonora Pass is scheduled to open today at 2 p.m. Snow and debris have been removed and work to ensure the traveling public’s safety is finishing up.

The State Route opening is dependent on favorable weather. If the area is impacted by inclement weather Caltrans may have to re-close the highway.

Caltrans would like to also remind travelers of the truck restrictions recently enacted on SR 108 and advise big rig drivers to continue to use an alternate route.
