The Bishop Library: Kittens, Summer Reading, and a Party

Kittens, Summer Reading, and a Party !

You won’t want to miss this! The Bishop Library has a full day of events planned on Friday, June 2, starting at 10:30 with a special Story Time visit from the adorable, fluffy, up-for- adoption kittens from the Inyo County Animal Shelter. From 10:30 to 11:00 staff members from the animal shelter will be in the library wrangling kittens and talking about the important work that they do. Please be sure to arrive on time as the kittens will be leaving the building at 11:00! Story Time runs from 10:30 to 11:30 on the first Friday of every month, so don’t forget to mark it on your calendars!

Students are invited to stop by after school from 3:00 to 5:00 for the Summer Reading Program kick-off. Kids can pick up their reading logs and bingo cards and start checking out books (up to ten at a time, for the high-achievers out there). The library will be awarding grand prizes at the end of summer for the most books read, most pages read (so don’t forget to pick up some big chapter books!), most time spent reading, and most bingos achieved. How many books will you read this summer?

Adults can enjoy the library as well from 3:00 to 5:00 during a celebration of the completion of the new circulation system. This is an excellent opportunity to see the new system at work, learn about the benefits of automation, upgrade to a barcoded library card, and enjoy snacks provided by the Friends of the Bishop Library. Join members of the Board of Supervisors and your Inyo County Librarians as they recognize this milestone moment. The Inyo County Free Library appreciates the support of all of the Library Friends groups and the public!

When: Fri., Jun. 2 (10:30)
Where:
Bishop LIbrary, Bishop, CA
