Altrusa Art Sale
Coming to the Tri-County Fairgrounds is the 19th Annual Altrusa Art Sale and is only one of many activities scheduled for the fairgrounds on Saturday, October 7th.
Join the ladies of Altrusa as they host artists from Inyo and Mono Counties. Congratulations to Laura Diko, this years “featured artist.” Her watercolor of the “Green Church was voted “Best of Show” in 2016. Laura has been an Eastern Sierra resident since 2013. She escaped the city after
25 years as a medical transcriber in San Diego where she was a member of the San Diego Watercolor society. She loves the Eastern Sierra as her backyard and when she is not painting you will find her fly fishing or jeeping.
This year’s Raffle Art is a limited edition “Golden Trout” Pyrography donated by Gina Webber. This piece was originally created on a large slab of live edged Jeffrey Pine. The pyrography image was burned into the surface of the wood using a heated metallic point. The grain of the wood re-
minded her of the flowing water found in the Eastern Sierra creeks and streams that inspired her to capture these beautiful wild fish swimming in the natural habitat.
Tickets are available from any Altrusa member, Bishop Art Supply and at the Art Sale. The winner will be announced at 4 PM Saturday, October 1st.
The Art Sale is a fundraiser for the Altrusa International of the Eastern Sierra , a group of civic-minded people committed to making our community better through leadership, partnership and service.
So join the fun at the fairgrounds
