The Movie to Keep Squaw True tells the epic story of a mountain community rising up to defend the integrity of an incredible place.

When private equity developers and their corporate henchmen came to Tahoe to transform Squaw Valley into a Vegas-style amusement park, they ran into mountain of community commitment, organized as the movement to Keep Squaw True.

The movie tells the inspiring story of their seven-year struggle to stand up and defend Squaw Valley, Lake Tahoe, and the Sierra Nevada.

The film was written and directed by brothers Robb (Squallywood) and Scott Gaffney (Matchstick Productions) and was produced by Sierra Watch. It features an unforgettable cast of enthusiastic Tahoe locals and iconic Squaw legends as they show the world how to band together and stand up for their mountain values.

Mono County Sheriff: Missing Person

Karlie Lain Gusé has been missing for one month. Karlie was last seen walking from her home in Chalfant, California, on the early morning of Saturday, October 13, 2018. Karlie is a white female, 16 years old, 5’ 07”, 110 pounds, dark blond hair and blue eyes. If you have information regarding Karlie’s whereabouts, please call the Mono County Sheriff’s Office at 760-932-7549, option 7, or the National Center for Missing and Endangered Children at 800-843-5678 (800-THE-LOST).

This remains a Missing Person investigation. We have a deputy dedicated to this investigation, and we are working the case every day. The FBI continues to partner with us, and we have also met with the private investigator working with the family. We will not release any details from our investigation unless those details will help locate Karlie.
